The second transnational meeting of the project ‘Excellence in Math E=MD2 Education through (e-) Debate and Diversity’ took place on 22 and 23 September 2022 in Nicosia, Cyprus. The meeting was organised by the Cyprus Mathematical Society and focused on discussing the progress of the project.
During the two days, the partners discussed Project Result 1, which involved compiling effective teaching methods for teaching mathematics across Europe. This compilation is intended to be a useful resource showcasing different approaches. The meeting also centred on a report resulting from a survey that was also part of Project Result 1. The survey explored the realities and challenges of learning and teaching maths in the local contexts of the partner countries – Spain, Cyprus, Romania, Croatia and North Macedonia.
At the end of the meeting, the partners recognised the progress made and committed to further work. The lessons learnt from the best practises and the survey results will guide the next phases of the project.
Looking forward, the focus will be on translating these findings into practical strategies to improve maths teaching. The consortium is ready to work together and rise to the challenges to achieve the common goal of improving maths education across borders.
